Managing disaster response is a complex operation. It is best controlled by the effective and efficient deployment of the appropriate personnel. The response teams and volunteer groups play a key role in protecting our residents during these events. This program will discuss methods and techniques for team leaders and managers to employ during emergency operations to not only respond appropriately but maintain harmony while supporting the responders.

This course, taught by NJ State Police - Hazardous Materials Response Unit, is designed and intended for EMS, Fire Depts and similar groups to respond to, operate at and perform critical and essential care of the injured from a hazardous materials release. It will involve the planning, training, triage, decontamination, rehabilitation, transport and termination of the EMS Branch or function.
