This seminar is for officers and investigators who have little previous training in death related cases or those who desire a refresher seminar on these types of investigations.. Topics to be covered include: (1) role of forensic science in death case investigation; (2) typical wounds encountered in such cases; (3) evidence collection and methods of transport; (4) case specific crimes and situations; (5) dealing with witnesses; (6) informing family members; (7) suspect apprehension; (8) basic interview and interrogation methods; and (9) importance of documentation and working with the prosecutor for successful case conclusion.
