Firm Hired to Design Improvements to Weymouth-Malaga Road

The firm that presently serves as the engineer for Buena Borough has been contracted by the county to design improvements to 2.6 miles of Weymouth-Malaga Road in Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township, announced County Executive Dennis Levinson. The project will extend from Route 40 to Route 54 along this roadway.

"Weymouth-Malaga Road is an important link between two State highways, and is currently in need of improvements to the road surface," stated Levinson.

In addition to road surface improvements, Remington, Vernick & Walberg will attempt to address known drainage problems on the road. Their contract calls for the preparation of specifications and all documents necessary for bidding as well as conducting inspections throughout construction.

County officials believe the firm's familiarity with the road will help ensure the best design to remedy its current problems and ensure the safety of motorists.
