Senior Gold Prescription Discounts Available

Elderly and disabled residents who do NOT qualify for Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD) may be eligible to participate in the Senior Gold discount prescription program, announced County Executive Dennis Levinson.

"Many of our residents are unaware of this service that can save them substantial money on their prescriptions," stated Levinson. "Some Senior Gold cardholders pay as little as $15 per prescription."

To be eligible for the Senior Gold program, you must be a New Jersey resident at least 65 years old or a recipient of Social Security disability benefits. Single individuals must have an income between $19,739 and $29,739 and married couples must have an income between $24,203 and $34,203.

Those that qualify pay only $15 plus 50% of the remaining cost for each prescription covered under the plan. Senior Gold cardholders with annual out-of-pocket costs in excess of $2,000 for single persons and $3,000 for married couples pay only $15 per prescription.

Applications are available at the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services, 101 S. Shore Road, Northfield.

For more information, call the Division of Intergenerational Services at 1-888-426-9243. To speak directly to a Senior Gold representative, call 1-800-792-9745.
