Public Invited to Free Labor Day Concert at McClinton Park

The music of John Philip Sousa will be featured at a special Labor Day free concert at Oscar McClinton Waterfront Park, New Hampshire Avenue, Atlantic City, on Monday, September 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. A 15-piece orchestra headed by Art Blatt will bring the summer to a rousing close with patriotic favorites including some music written by Sousa who performed in Atlantic City in the early 20th century. To add to the fun, there will be a special "appearance" by John Philip Sousa and his good friend, Dr. Jonathon Pitney, the founder of Atlantic City. Those who plan to attend should bring their own chairs or blankets for seating.
