Beginning September 15, Atlantic County Library System card holders can stream three hours of music every day for free. Freegal Music users may listen to entire albums, premade playlists, or create their own playlists.
In addition, now card holders may download and keep five free music tracks a week, instead of three, through Freegal Music on the library’s website. Downloaded videos count as two tracks. Each song has a sample clip so users can preview the song before downloading.
No special software is needed, but card holders need their library card number and PIN to log in to Freegal. Freegal works with almost all computers, players, tablets, and smartphones. Freegal Music mobile apps are available for Apple and Android devices.
Freegal Music, a downloadable music and video service, provides access to about seven million songs, including those in the Sony Music catalog. Music from more than 28,000 labels from more than 80 countries in more than 150 genres of music is available, including the labels of Sony Music Entertainment. Currently, there are approximately 15,000 videos available, with more being added each week.
For more information, go to the Atlantic County Library System’s website: www.atlanticlibrary.org. A link to Freegal Music is found under Digital Media, or go directly to www.atlanticlibrary.org/freegal Users are prompted to enter the library card number and PIN on the Freegal login page.
