County Executive Dennis Levinson and Freeholder Chairman and State Assemblyman Kirk Conover joined Timothy McDonough, Executive Director of the New Jersey Highway Authority, at a June 3 ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Circle K convenience store located at the recently renovated Atlantic City service area on the Garden State Parkway in Galloway Township.
The renovation efforts are a result of a public-private partnership between the New Jersey Highway Authority, Atlantic County and the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
The opening of the Circle K store marks the first of several planned improvements for the service area that include modifying the southbound exit ramp and merging lane to significantly improve safety and ease traffic congestion. There are also plans for a "park and ride" lot and a transportation and commuter center.
