More than 800 teens from area high schools, middle schools and private music schools will participate in the 2003 Teen Arts Festival on May 8 from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM on the campus of the Richard Stockton State College in Pomona.
Students will be performing, exhibiting and taking workshops and master classes throughout the day. Music performances will range from classical to pop in vocal, and from jazz to rock in instrumental including performances on harp and sitar. Dance performances will range from contemporary ballet and modern to flamenco and hip hop. Theater performances will include musical theater, comedy and Shakespeare.
Students will have opportunities to participate in a variety of workshops that include poetry and short story writing, computer animation, collage, audition techniques and the history of rock and roll music.
The program is coordinated by the Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.
