African Folktales Presented at January 12th Kidshows

Storyteller, musician and dancer Namu Lwanga will present "A Web of Tales" on Saturday, January 12, 2002 at 2 PM in the Walter Edge Theatre on the campus of Atlantic Cape Community College, Mays Landing. Tickets are $3 at the door.

A native of Uganda, Namu Lwanga combines dance, music, mime and theatre to present a collection of African folktales, myths and fables. Lwanga is among a small number of female performers in Uganda. Many of the instruments she plays are traditionally reserved for the men of her country.

This performance is the third in the annual Kidshows series, sponsored by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs to nurture creative imaginations and develop future audiences for the arts. Kidshows is made possible in part through funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
