Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Orientation for Clergy & Managers

This orientation class is designed to introduce or re-orient Law Enforcement Managers and Clergy to Law Enforcement / Public Safety Ministry. It will address the scope of this particular Chaplaincy, its purpose, requirements, resources, limits, mission, benefits and pitfalls from both the perspective of the law enforcement agency and clerical perspective. Upon completion of this class attendees will have a basic, practical understanding of the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Model, what it is, what it is not, its costs, benefits, resources, collaborative role, role in Death Notification, Stress Management, Assets & Liabilities, Confidentiality, Ethics, Crisis & Critical Incident Preparation, Intervention & Response, Ministry to the Law Enforcement Family, Ceremonies and Events. Attending managers and clergy will be better prepared to initiate or re-organize, re-vitalize a Chaplaincy Program with sound, current practice and policy. Law Enforcement Officer health - Adding Life to Your Years

This orientation class is designed to introduce Law Enforcement Officers and Managers to the New Jersey Police Surgeons Program and provide the current best practices and state of the art presentation regarding the personal and collective health of those in law enforcement. It will address all facets of health and wellness support as the program goal is to provide preferential treatment to the law enforcement community. Particular issues such as Stress, Irritated Nerves, Emotional Self-Care, Law Enforcement Personality Changes, Injuries, Back Pain, Prevention, Treatment, Exercise, Rest, Nutrition, etc. will be addressed. Upon completion of this class attendees will have a better, practical understanding of unique Law Enforcement health issues and fundamental principles of addressing same. Attending Officers and managers will be better prepared to apply these principles personally and organizationally. Leadership and Supervision

This class, offered and taught by the FBI, is designed for first-line supervisors in law enforcement. It includes issues such as examination of interpersonal communication, managing the problem employee, motivation, delegation, problem solving and stress management. Class size is limited to 30 by the FBI, including 15 students from Atlantic County and 15 students from Cape May County.

Level 2 Counter-Terrorism Workshop

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, will be conducting a two-day workshop on Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence Issues on January 28th – 29th, 2007. The workshop will be held at Anthony Canale Training Center (Atlantic County Police Training Academy) located at 5033 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. All students for this workshop must have previously attended one of the prerequisite Level 1 Counter-Terrorism Intelligence & Awareness seminars (now available at www.NJlearn.com). The course is designed to familiarize and engage local law enforcement with an array of issues, including Pre-Incident Indicators/Current Trends and Tactics, Intelligence and Law Enforcement, Foreign Threats Entering the United States, Suicide Bombers and Bomb Recognition Techniques. This course will also include a Case Study of an FBI investigation, as well as, a participant interactive exercise. Pre-registration is required for this course by no later than January 21, 2008. New Jersey law enforcement officers MUST register for this course online via www.NJLearn.com. Out-of-state law enforcement officers should follow below instruction for registering. Manadnock MDTS/Impact Weapons Instructor

This 2 day course is designed to prepare law enforcement officers who will have the responsibility of teachng proper impact weapons and defensive tactic techniques. Upon successful completion, officers will be certified to provide instruction on the Monadnock Expandable Baton . Written and practical tests will be given at the conclusion of the training. Students should ne in good condition and free of any physical limitations. Participants will need their complete duty belt, including expandable baton, holder and handcuffs.
