On Wednesday, November 4 at 3:30 PM, local scout troops in cooperation with Atlantic County Parks staff will honor the memories of our fallen veterans and their spouses who are buried in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery with the placement of flags on their grave sites in preparation for the Veterans Day holiday.
Special accommodations are being made to safely ensure social distancing and all participants will be encouraged to wear facemasks.
In the event of inclement weather, the flag placement will take place on Thursday, November 5 at 3:30 PM.
Scouts who perform this service on two of three occasions throughout the year (Memorial Day, July Fourth and Veterans Day) will be eligible to receive the Atlantic County Patriotism Patch in recognition of their efforts.
The Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery is located within the county park at 109 Route 50 in Estell Manor. The cemetery serves as the final resting place for approximately 5,400 veterans and their spouses.
