Atlantic County Veterans Museum Preview - December 7

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson in cooperation with the Atlantic County Veterans Museum Committee and the Atlantic County Veterans Museum Foundation invite the public to a preview and progress update on the new Atlantic County Veterans Museum on Wednesday, December 7 (Pearl Harbor Day), 11 AM to 2 PM. It is being created to honor the outstanding contributions of our local veterans and serve as an educational resource and visitor destination.

The museum is located on Route 50 adjacent to the Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor, in the historic Daniel Estell House, circa 1832, and the former home of Rebecca Estell Bourgeois Winston, the state’s first female mayor. The facility has been rehabilitated to meet current code standards and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Veterans Museum Committee, chaired by former County Executive Richard E. Squires, was established by Levinson in 2013 to coordinate the collection and display of military artifacts. The Veterans Museum Foundation, chaired by former Freeholder and Assemblyman Ken LeFevre, is a non-profit organization responsible for fundraising efforts to preserve and exhibit collection items.
