On-line Application Procedures

NOTE:  Incomplete applications will not be processed. Early submission of applications/registrations is recommended. Application to a course does not guarantee acceptance. Students are selected based on class size and will be notified three to four weeks prior to the start of the class.

You have two options on where to start. You can begin by filling out the on-line application or you can go directly to the catalog, choose a class then go to the application.

Filling out the on-line Application.

All fields marked with an asterisk(*) are mandatory.  The form will not be submitted if you do not fill them in. 

Fill in the fields as indicated.  Note any format requirements. 

If the agency or company for which you work is not on the list then be sure to fill in this information where provided.  CERT applicants are not required to enter any Professional Information, but should provide appropriate contact numbers.

The application will generate a Random Generated Student ID.  You will have the opportunity to print a confirmation page including this identifier.  You will need this identifier register for courses, confirm your attendance and access you profile.  If you loose this number please contact the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Preparedness Operations/Training office at (609) 407-6701 or email us at emer_mgmt@aclink.org.

Working with the Catalog

You can browse the catalog at any time without being a registered user or, if you are already registered, without logging on.  You will need to fill out the application to actually sign-up for a class.  You can view our entire catalog which includes courses that we offer which are not currently scheduled.  If you are interested in taking a course that is not scheduled use the the mail link provided to let us know.  If enough students show interest in a course we will make every effort to add it to the schedule. 

Courses in the catalog are listed by category and there is a brief description included for each.

You can also view just the courses that are currently being offered.  To do so click on the link that says, "View Courses Currently on the Calendar". 

Finally, you can limit your view to courses in a particular category by choose the category you are interested in from the drop down list provided and clicking on the "View" button.

Once you have found the chouse you wish to take you can register for that course by clicking the "Register for this Course" button.

How to Register for a class.

If you are not currently logged on to our webpage you will get a page giving you a couple of options.  First, if you are a registered student you can click on the "Click here to Log In!" link.  You will then be prompted for your StudentID once you have entered your ID number you will be asked if you want to add the class to your "Course Cart", you should click on the "Yes, add this course to my cart!" button.  (You will also be able to return to the catalog or go to your course cart without adding the class to the cart.)

The Course Cart is a holding area for you to use as a registration tool. As you review courses in the Course Catalog you can indicate your intention to register for a particular class by adding it to your cart. Putting a class in the cart does not mean you have registered for the class. You must Confirm and Complete the application!

From the course cart you again have a few options.  You can choose to remove the class from your course cart, you can confirm and complete the application for the course, or you can continue shopping.  If you continue shopping and add another class to the cart you will be able to confirm and complete the application for all the classes at the same time.  However, if you fail to return to complete this step you will not be registered for the class.  You can always return later, log in and complete the confirmation and complete the process.

Confirming Attendance

Each student will receive a notification regarding acceptance into a course. The student must confirm on-line by logging in to the Student Confirmation Page (click here to go there now) by the deadline indicated in the notification email. A waiting list will be generated for all classes that exceed the number of students allowed in the course. Please be courteous to your colleagues on the waiting list. If you know that attendance at a course is not possible, notify the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Preparedness Operations/Training office at (609) 407-6701 or on-line immediately upon receiving your acceptance email so that someone else can take your place. Failure to make notification or continuous "no shows" will jeopardize enrollment in future classes.
