A portion of Franklin Boulevard in Pleasantville is currently detoured for utility work by South Jersey Gas as part of an environmental remediation project. Those who would like to access the Atlantic County Animal Shelter at 240 Old Turnpike in Pleasantville should do so by way of Main Street and Old Turnpike.
Motorists may turn east on Old Turnpike from Main Street and proceed past the detour sign at Madison Avenue. Then continue on Old Turnpike across Franklin Boulevard to the shelter.
The current detour is expected to remain in place for the next several months. Signs have been posted to direct motorists to the Animal Shelter.
