In an effort to develop a coalition of employers who provide employment opportunities for youth from Atlantic and Cape May counties, the Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board's Youth Investment Council will be holding its first Youth Business Partners meeting on Monday, April 29 from 9-11 AM in the Emerald Room of the Trump Taj Mahal.
There are currently more than 100 employers who are actively involved with youth through WIB programs. The WIB Youth Council is hoping to expand that network as a result of these meetings.
"The WIB Youth Council serves both our youth and area employers," noted Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson. "I encourage employers to take advantage of this valuable resource."
The initial event will include a presentation by Siobhan Kelly, Camden County School-to-Careers Coordinator, who has developed a similar partnership in that county. In addition, a new web site will be unveiled that will allow employers to post jobs for youth 14 years and older.
