Joseph F. Zondlo of Egg Harbor Township has been appointed by County Executive Dennis Levinson to serve on the board of the Special Services School District to replace Dr. David Blumenthal who resigned. Blumenthal has served as a board member since 1996.
"Joe Zondlo has an extensive background in education that will serve him well as a member of this board. He is extremely dedicated and committed to serving the best interests of our special needs students. I am confident he will be an asset to the board," said Levinson.
Zondlo is a retired Curriculum Coordinator and Director of Special Education for the Margate School District. He had also served as Director of Pupil Personnel Services and as school psychologist. He is a graduate of Millersville University where he received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's degree in education. Zondlo also holds an associate degree in engineering from Penn State University and a Master's degree in school psychology from Millersville.
Levinson praised Blumenthal for his service. "David Blumenthal has been a strong advocate for education throughout his career and during his two terms on this board. I appreciate his continued efforts and his contribution to our residents," he said.
