Two More COVID-19 Deaths and 14 New Cases Confirmed in Atlantic County

Two residents in their 80s with underlying health conditions are the latest COVID-19 fatalities in Atlantic County.

The Atlantic County Division of Public Health reported the deaths of an 89-year old Pleasantville woman and an 86-year old Hamilton Township man along with 14 new cases of COVID-19, earlier today, April 13.

These additional confirmations bring the countywide total to 276 positives and nine deaths.

County Executive Dennis Levinson noted that while the elderly and those with underlying health conditions are more susceptible to COVID-19, no one is immune. “Please continue to take the health recommendations and guidance seriously,” he said. “We all need to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. “Stay at home and avoid interactions. And if you are sick, self-isolate to protect others.”

Levinson added, “We must also not forget the elderly and those living alone. Check on them by phone or through social media to be sure they are healthy and safe.”

Today’s new cases include six men, ages 34-64 and eight women, ages 19-88. Atlantic City, Egg Harbor Twp., Folsom and Galloway each had two new cases and Buena, Hamilton Twp., Linwood, Pleasantville, Somers Point and Ventnor each had one new positive.

Atlantic County will provide COVID-19 drive-thru testing for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription on Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 16 behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing, 10 AM – 1 PM, by appointment.

Appointments can be made on the county website: https://www.atlantic-county.org/covid/
