COVID-19 Claims Three More Lives in Atlantic County

Three more deaths related to COVID-19 were reported earlier today, April 7, by the Atlantic County Division of Public Health. They included two Egg Harbor Township men in their 60s and an Atlantic City man in his 80s. At least two of the victims had underlying health conditions.

The county reported its first COVID-19-related death on April 2 in an Egg Harbor Township man in his late 50s who also had underlying health conditions.

“We are saddened by the deaths of these Atlantic County residents as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated County Executive Dennis Levinson. “We offer our deepest condolences to their families who, like most of us, would have never imagined what has unfolded across our state, our country and the world. These losses are yet another sobering reminder of why it is so important for each of us to continue to heed the guidance of our health and safety officials, especially in staying home and at a safe distance from others.”

Public health officials also confirmed today 16 additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. With these new cases, the county has now reported a total of 156 cases among its residents, 19 of whom have been cleared as recovered.

Today’s cases included 10 men ages 22-63 and six women ages 26-63.
