The Atlantic County Library System was one of 14 libraries to receive a contract for a KwikBoost charging station from LibraryLinkNJ. KwikBoost provides users with the ability to charge their cell phones, tablets, e-readers and other electronic devices in a secure location within the library while they enjoy the library’s many amenities.
“Our libraries are invaluable community resources that offer education, recreation, socialization and more. This service is just another way in which they enhance our quality of life,” said County Executive Dennis Levinson.
He added that with the benefit of an emergency generator, the Mays Landing branch can provide a continuous power source during a power outage. So while residents may lose power during a storm, the charging station will remain operable and allow them to stay connected via their electronic devices.
The KwikBoost Charging Station is currently available to the public at the library system’s Mays Landing branch at 40 Farragut Avenue. It provides 16 charging connectors and a single power outlet throughout 8 lockers. Each charging locker is ADA compliant and locks individually to ensure security.
Funding for this Powering Up: Library Charging Stations Initiative is provided by LibraryLinkNJ, the New Jersey Library Cooperative whose services are funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library.
