County Employee Selected New Jersey CNA of the Year

County Executive Dennis Levinson is pleased to announce that Odellrie "Peaches" Butler has been selected by the New Jersey Activity Professional Association (NJAPA) as its Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) of the year. The selection was made at the annual NJAPA convention held in East Windsor, NJ in April.

Butler, a CNA at the Meadowview Nursing Home in Northfield, was selected from 16 nominees from throughout the state. Among the criteria considered in making the selection were the years of service as a CNA in a nursing home environment, the capacity in which the candidate has served the elderly and how the candidate has improved their quality of life.

Butler has been employed at Meadowview since 1989. She presently serves as a Restorative Aide, working closely with the recreation unit and the physical/occupational therapy department to incorporate daily activities into the resident's individual plan of care. Butler also provides assistance as a CNA for three resident floors and is a Certified Physical Rehabilitation Aide.

Levinson praised Butler for her dedication and commitment to the residents of Meadowview. "Peaches Butler exhibits compassion and care for our residents in everything she does. She is an excellent choice for CNA of the Year," stated Levinson. "We are very proud of her and appreciative of her contribution to the Meadowview Nursing Home."

Butler and her Meadowview coworkers will be honored at a luncheon on Wednesday, June 12 at 1 PM in the facility's employee dining room, 235 Dolphin Avenue, Northfield, in recognition of Certified Nurses Aide Week, June 6-13, 2002.
