Atlantic County will hold its 40th annual Senior Citizens Art Show beginning April 26 through May 25 to showcase the talents of professional and non-professional artists age 60 and older.
"This event is a time-honored tradition in Atlantic County that attracts much interest and exceptional talent," said County Executive Dennis Levinson. "We welcome returning artists and encourage those new to this show to share their creative abilities with their community."
The show will be exhibited at the Atlantic County Library, 6500 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor. Entries will be accepted at the library beginning Monday, April 18 through Saturday, April 23, 10 AM to 3:30 PM daily. One entry per artist. Winning entries in the juried show will advance to the state competition. Entries must have been created within the past three years and have not been previously entered in this competition. Categories include: acrylic, craft, digital imagery, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, drawing/print, sculpture and watercolor. One professional winner and non-professional winner from each category will be selected for advancement.
All winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony to be held on Wednesday, May 25, 1-3 PM. A monetary prize of $100 will be presented to each first place winner from the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services. Award ribbons will be presented for first, second and third place and honorable mention in each category.
