Atlantic County Parks’ Speaker’s Series Presents Great Egg Harbor River Trip Tips on August 26

Learn how to plan paddling trips for canoes and kayaks on the Great Egg Harbor River between Penny Pot and Lake Lenape from Fred Akers, Administrator of the Great Egg Harbor River Watershed. Akers will be the featured speaker on Tuesday, August 26, 7-8:30 PM, as part of the Speaker’s Series presented by the Atlantic County Division of Parks and Recreation.

The event will be held at the Fox Nature Center in the Atlantic County Park at Estell Manor, 109 Route 50. Akers will share his experiences and discuss access points, travel times, river condition assessments, safety issues as well as paddling techniques.

The event is free and open to teens and adults. Participants are asked to register in advance by calling (609) 625-7000, ext. 5431.
