Levinson Names Sander Honorary Atlantic County Fire Chief

County Executive Dennis Levinson will honor the county's oldest active firefighter on Thursday, June 26 at 10 AM at the Canale Training Center in Egg Harbor Township when he presents Charles Sander with the "Honorary Atlantic County Fire Chief" badge. Sander is an 87-year old Oceanville resident who has dedicated 65 years to fire service.

Sander's career in fire service began with the Absecon Fire Department. After one year, he joined the Oceanville Fire Company of Galloway Township where he remains a member and has held a variety of officer positions. Sander is also a member of the Atlantic County Firefighters Association and an historian of Atlantic County fire service. In addition, he has 30 years with the Oceanville and Atlantic County Fire Police.
