Levinson Appoints Foster to ACIA Board of Commissioners

Roy M. Foster of Egg Harbor Township has been appointed to a five year term on the Atlantic County Improvement Authority's Board of Commissioners. County Executive Dennis Levinson made the announcement following the approval by the Board of Freeholders. Foster replaces Joseph Wilkins who served nine years before recently resigning from the seven member board.

Levinson cited Foster's extensive experience as a labor union representative as an asset to the board. "Roy Foster is well respected within the community and uniquely qualified to offer direction and guidance. I look forward to working with him as we continue to undertake public improvements throughout Atlantic County."

The Atlantic County Improvement Authority is a multi-purpose financing and development agency created by the county to plan, finance and construct public improvements and assist in housing rehabilitation.

Foster is a 1984 graduate of Atlantic Cape Community College and has completed his IBEW NJATC Electrical Apprenticeship Training. He is a member of IBEW Local Union 351 and has served as its business agent since 1998. In addition, Foster has served as president of the Atlantic and Cape May County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council for the past six years. Foster also contributes his time and talents as a board member of the Atlantic County United Way and the Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board.
