Tax Talk for Seniors

Seniors in need of tax information are invited to "Tax Talk," a program provided by the New Jersey Division of Taxation with cooperation from the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services. The program has been scheduled for various dates, beginning April 22 through May 2, at eight different Atlantic County senior center locations.

Although this program is being offered following the April 15 tax deadline, County Executive Dennis Levinson believes it is valuable. "Good tax advice is always helpful, especially when it serves to educate participants and results in them being better prepared."

Nick Cocco will visit the sites to discuss tax programs that are of particular interest to seniors. Cocco will provide information on such programs as the Homestead rebate, property tax relief and the SAVER program and answer any questions. The program is expected to last 30 minutes with additional time for questions. Seniors are welcome to attend lunch following the program, but reservations are required two days in advance.
