Showcase of Services Highlights Atlantic County's Human Services Community

Nominations for outstanding members of the human services community are now being accepted for the 2003 Golden Link Award to be presented at Atlantic County's 16th annual Showcase of Services on Sunday, April 6 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Hamilton Mall, Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing.

County Executive Dennis Levinson looks forward to the event and encourages residents to attend. "Each year Showcase of Services gets bigger and better. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn more about these agencies and all that they offer."

The Golden Link Award is presented to an individual who best demonstrates excellence in the coordination of services and sharing of resources on behalf of a human services organization or agency. Eligibility requirements and nomination forms are posted on the event's Web site: www.infoatlantic.org/showcase. The deadline for nominations is March 21.

In addition to the presentation of this award, Showcase of Services will feature nearly 100 local human service providers, including several county offices, such as the Division of Consumer Affairs, the Office of Mosquito Control, the Division of Intergenerational Services and the Library system. Participants will be located throughout the mall, available to answer questions and share information.

More than 400 Girl Scouts will participate as part of an informational scavenger hunt. The scouts will be asked to obtain information from stores and agencies related to disability awareness issues and services.
