Looking for a way to celebrate Valentine's Day? If you are age 60 years or older, County Executive Dennis Levinson suggests spending February 14 at one of the county's nine senior centers where you will be treated to a special sweetheart lunch in the company of your peers.
"Valentine's Day should not be spent alone," said Levinson. "The sweetheart luncheon is a wonderful opportunity to socialize and learn more about all that our senior centers have to offer. I encourage our residents to attend."
Each of the centers are open from 9 AM to 2 PM with lunch served at noon. A kosher menu is offered at the Rosen Center in Atlantic City. Reservations for lunch are required for all sites two days in advance. There is no fee to attend the centers, but participants may donate $1 per visit to further enhance activities such as crafts, line dancing, parties, youth activities, computer classes, billiards, cards, book clubs and bingo.
