Levinson Appoints Judith A. Gallagher and Ruth G. Tunnell to Special Services School Board

Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson announced today the appointment of Judith A. Gallagher of Margate and Ruth G. Tunnell of Atlantic City to the Board of the Atlantic County Special Services School District.

"I am very grateful that these two highly capable individuals have agreed to serve on this important Board. They both have a background in education and training and are familiar with the unique needs of our special children. They come on board at an important time as we begin preparations to consolidate three schools into one centralized facility. I feel certain they will make a valuable contribution to the betterment of the school," Levinson said.

Gallagher, who is now retired, is the former Curriculum Coordinator for the Margate City Public Schools where she served for 27 years. She was a Governor's Recognition Program Teacher of the Year in 1988. She is currently on the Governors Board of Wilkes University Council.

Tunnell, who currently serves as a Manager at the Atlantic County One Stop Job Center, has over 20 years experience in job training, vocational counseling, class room facilitation and supervision. She is the recipient of many honors and awards including the Rosa Parks Award from the National Job Corps.
