Public Invited to North-South Artery Information Session

County Executive Dennis Levinson is encouraging all interested residents to attend a public information session on Monday, November 25 at 7 PM to discuss the widening of Pomona Road in the Galloway Township Council Chambers, 300 East Jim Leeds Road, Galloway.

"Our goal is to ease traffic congestion and provide a safe roadway for our residents throughout the County," said Levinson. "The North/South Artery represents one of the most ambitious projects yet, involving multiple state agencies and federal and municipal governments. Both public and private sector input is crucial to the successful planning and design of this important system."

The county received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs to explore the widening of Pomona Road into a North-South arterial that would connect the Pinelands regional growth communities of Galloway and Hamilton Townships. Parsons Brinckerhoff Engineering was subsequently retained by the county to conduct traffic and environmental analyses, an aerial photographic survey and produce a conceptual design. These initial findings will be presented during the public information session. Representatives from the county and Parsons Brinckerhoff will be available for questions.
